The Eucharist the new Bread given to Elijah

Supernatural nourishing food for the journey: Elijah ate the bread (baked cakes) and water provided by the angel and it sustained him for 40 days whilst journeying to Mount Horeb (1 Kg 19:4-8); the Eucharist is the bread of eternal life provided by Jesus for the Church (Jn 6:48-51) whilst sojourning on Earth waiting to enter Heaven (1 Pet 2:11)
