Baptism the new Creation
1 Peter 3:20-21 when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ
1 Corinthians 10:1-2 For I want you to know, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, and all were baptised into Moses in the cloud and in the sea

Anointing of Holy Spirit and water: in the beginning the Spirit of God hovering over the waters (Gen 1:2); the dove from Naoh's ark over the flood waters (Gen 8:8-12); the pillar of cloud protecting Israel during the crossing of the Red Sea (Ex 14:19-25); the dove resting on Jesus during his baptism in the River Jordan (Mt 3:16-17); baptism of water and the Spirit (Jn 3:5)
