Mary the Queen Mother
Revelations 12:1 And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
1 Kings 2:12-22
Queen is mother of the king: Bathsheba mother of Solomon, king of Israel (1 Kg 1;30); Mary mother to the universal king Jesus, the new Solomon
Intercessor: Adonijah asked Bathsheba (1 Kg 2:13-19) knowing Solomon would not refuse her request (1 Kg 2:20); through Mary to Jesus (Jn 2:3-5)
Venerated: Solomon bowed before Bathsheba (1 Kg 2:19); all generations call Mary blessed (Lk 1:48)
Coronation: Bathsheba sat at the right of Solomon’s throne (1 Kg 2:19); Mary as the woman in heaven with a crown (Rev 12:1)
