Divine Son of God

  • angels (Job 1:6)

  • Israel, the chosen people (Ex 4:22; Dt 14:1, 32:8; Hos 11:1)

  • kings of Israel/Judah (2 Sam 7:14)

  • the Messiah-king (1 Chr 17:13; Ps 2:7)

  • God the Father called Jesus his "beloved Son" at his baptism (Mt 3:17) and Transfiguration (Mt 17:5)

  • Peter's profession of faith of Jesus's identity (Mt 16:16-17)

  • Jesus's glory as the divine Son witnessed after his resurrection (Jn 1:14; 1 Pet 1:21)
